Open Access Policy

Journal of Global South Development Studies is loyal to open access for academic work. All the original articles and review papers published in this journal are free to access immediately from the date of publication. We don’t charge any fees for any reader to download articles and reviews for their own scholarly use.

Journal of Global South Development Studies operates under the Creative Commons Licence CC-BY-NC. This allows for the reproduction of articles, free of charge, for non-commercial use only and with the appropriate citation information. All authors publishing with the journal accept these as the terms of publication.

Creative Commons licenses

Open-access articles in the Journal of Global South Development Studies are published under Creative Commons licenses. These provide an industry-standard framework to support easy re-use of open-access material. Under Creative Commons licenses, authors retain the copyright of their articles.

Journal of Global South Development Studies articles are published open access under a CC-BY-NC license (Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license). The CC-BY-NC license is the most open license available and is considered the industry 'gold standard' for open access; it is also preferred by many funders. This allows for the reproduction of articles, free of charge, for non-commercial use only, and with the appropriate citation information. All authors publishing with the Journal of Global South Development Studies accept these as the terms of publication.
